While travelling through Europe, I stepped into a centuries-old stone chapel—cool, quiet, and untouched by urgency. Limestone walls carried the memory of incense burned generations before, sunlight filtered gently through dust-filled air, and every surface bore the beauty of time rather than the desire to resist it. Nothing in that space was excessive. Everything had purpose. It was a reminder that what lasts is built with intention, respect, and restraint.
That experience reshaped how I understood luxury. True luxury is not abundance—it is care. It is the thoughtful use of natural materials, the balance between beauty and responsibility, and the understanding that sustainability begins with small, conscious choices made consistently.

In building this brand, I immersed myself in research—studying the finest stone, quartz, and natural materials available on the global market. I searched for suppliers and artisans who shared the same values of preservation, ethical sourcing, and craftsmanship. Every material was questioned. Every process was considered. The goal was not to follow existing designs, but to create something entirely new—an object that felt timeless, architectural, and responsibly made.
This dedication led Vela Gloria to become the first in the UK and Europe to bring this design and material combination to life—merging sculptural stone and quartz with eco-conscious candle craftsmanship. Why is the refill £35?
Each refill is a complete restoration, not a replacement. Your vessel is carefully cleaned, inspected, and refilled by hand using premium wax and fragrance, then returned to you with tracked delivery. The price reflects the craftsmanship, materials, labour, and shipping involved — while still offering significant value compared to purchasing a new candle.
Is refilling really more sustainable?
Yes. Refilling preserves the stone vessel, which is the most resource-intensive part of the candle. By returning the glass insert and reusing it, we reduce waste, minimise raw material use, and extend the life of an object designed to endure.
Why isn’t the refill cheaper?
We believe sustainability should never feel like a compromise. Refilling is still a personalised luxury service — one that rewards intention rather than disposal. The refill price reflects the care, quality, and service involved, while remaining significantly less than purchasing a new candle.
Do you ever offer refills at a reduced price?
We occasionally introduce intentional refill offerings for returning clients, designed to honour long-term ritual rather than promote short-term sales. These offerings are never framed as discounts and are introduced thoughtfully, once our refill community is established.
What are refill bundles?
Refill bundles allow clients who regularly return their candles to commit to multiple refills in advance. This supports long-term ritual and reduces unnecessary packaging and shipments.
When available, bundles are offered quietly and intentionally — for example, a set of three refills at a preferential rate compared to individual refills.
Why aren’t refill bundles always available?
We introduce bundles only once refill demand is consistent and operationally sustainable. This ensures every refill continues to meet our standards of craftsmanship, care, and attention

Do you offer subscriptions?
In the future, we may offer a limited Ritual Continuation option for clients who refill regularly. This is not a traditional subscription, but an invitation-only service designed to simplify ongoing refills while maintaining flexibility and choice.
When offered, it may include a small courtesy adjustment in pricing as a thank-you for long-term commitment.
Is a subscription cheaper than individual refills?
Any difference in pricing reflects reduced administrative handling and advance commitment, rather than a promotional discount. The focus remains on continuity, convenience, and ritual — not savings.
Do you run sales or promotions on refills?
No. We do not participate in sales events or seasonal discounting. Refills are part of an ongoing craft service, and their value remains consistent year-round.

Once your vessel arrives with us, refills are typically completed and returned. The entire process should take approximately 7–10 working days.
How many times can my candle be refilled?
Your stone vessel is designed to last for many years. With proper care, it can be refilled as many times as you use your candle — each refill extending both the life of the object and the ritual it holds.
What if my vessel has natural marks or variations?
Natural stone carries unique variations that are part of its character. These do not affect performance and are celebrated as part of the material’s beauty.
